Sanju Sahai at the Turner Sims

Hi, this is Zoe. I will normally be keeping you updated on Performing Arts Union (PAU) events (with Ada), however I saw a great gig in the Turner Sims Concert Hall today and felt compelled to write a quick review!!!

Sanju Sahai, an internationally renowned tabla player performed today at the Turner Sims as part of the free Monday lunchtime concert series. Sanju Sahai is an artist not to be missed, today he performed alongside three other phenomenal Indian music specialists including Arun Ghosh on clarinet, Kadialy Kouyate on African kora and Tarun Jasani on sarod. It was a truly great performance, that completely lifted my mood and sent me into a spiritual realm of relaxation and fascination. The musicians maintained great communication with each other throughout the performance and improvised the majority of the pieces, without a slip in their technique. It really was a great gig... check out this youtube link to see a previous performance at the Turner Sims...
